How Marshmallow Peeps Are Made

2009_04_02-Peeps.jpgTake a look at these little guys — do they look familiar? They should!

They are the famous (infamous?) little Marshmallow Peeps turned out by the thousands this time of year. You can do so many things with these sugar-covered marshmallows chicks: eat them, decorate cakes with them, explode them in the microwave. But this slideshow shows how they come to be, made right in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania.

Definitely going to make these this weekend, can't wait to see if I can get them to look anything like they are supposed to.

This is exciting; I once tried to make a giant peep for an overly-peep-obsessed friend using a concoction of marshmallow fluff and I don't even remember what else. It ended up a big gooey blob. Can't wait to try a real recipe!
