Small is Cool: Mini Food

2007_04_13-TinyFood.jpg

We celebrate all things small and cool this month at AT - and over here at the Kitchen that means small food. The image above is from the Craftster forums, where a couple made a tiny edible fast food meal. We've done mini burgers too, as well as miniature ice cream sodas and tiny sandwich cookies.

What is it about mini food that's so irresistable? Watch for more mini food this month (tapas, anyone?) - and meanwhile check out these tiny omelettes and tiny pies...

This reminds me of a set my sisters had when we were little. You could make "McDonalds" meals out of everyday food items at home. I seem to recall the Hamburgers being made of Nilla wafer, and frosting that came with the kit. The one thing I remember clearly was helping them make french fries with a plastic mold and white bread. One of the most surrel play food kits I'd ever seen, but surprisingly fun.
