Kat's favorite OTHER entry: I love Jennifer's Light and Airy because it's very elegant and well-proportioned, and has an open layout that allows the chef to cook and socialize at the same time.

Best thing you've ever cooked in this kitchen: I'm not sure about best, but my favorite is Chilli Crab, a traditional Singaporean dish. It's made with whole crabs and a sweet, garlic/tomato/hot chilli pepper sauce. For big family-style gatherings, I add shrimp and serve it over angel hair pasta.

What is your next improvement (if you could do anything)? The next improvement will be getting a piece of matching veneer to cover the wall with the vent. Another project is to figure out a way to elegantly fit recycling bins in the space.

How the heck did you get the sink above the dishwasher? Wouldn't depth and drainage be an issue?

The backsplash just looks so busy. And it doesn't seem to go with the rest of the kitchen (esp. the floor).
