I love Italian potato salad! i grew up eating it and it is one of my go-to summer party foods. Though I've always had it meatless. It's also great with some pesto mixed in (arugula and parsley are my faves to add)

Can someone tell me how that third piece of the Le Creuset terrine gets used?

Does it go inside and on the bottom of the terrine for liquids to drain out or to lift out the finished terrine? Or on top of the terrine to press it down? Or is it a trivet? Or some other use?
