This idea reminds me of my friend's restaurant. She wrote her basic recipes on her kitchen wall, right next to the stove. If anyone filled in for her in the kitchen, they knew right where to find her recipes.

If I didn't live in a rental, I would chalkboard-paint the front of my refridgerator and do this, with stuff like cocktail recipes and appetizers like pesto and salsa. But some clear contact paper on the insides of my cabinets with a Sharpie would be fantastic-- I could avoid resting a thick cookbook on the limited counterspace !
