@Kalinda, agreed. My first thought was wow! that's awesome! and my second thought dropped off from there pretty steeply. My mom once let my little brother dye all his food blue, but then he couldn't eat it. The first look/first taste was fun, but...no.

I first saw the rainbow cakes a few months ago. I always think they're straight out of Willy Wonka. They look fun, but only for a select audience; to me, they look very non-foodlike.

Yeah, if you look at her recipe you'll realize it not actual food anyways. But I suppose the idea could be used with a real cake recipe and natural food coloring or food based dyes.
