I have those wood/melamine bowls (I got them from King Arthur), and they are fantastic!!

The striped straws trigger nostalgia, but I'm not sure why. Before I saw the description I thought they would be perfect if they were paper. Now if only the memory would come back.

Personally, I'd ditch the paper straws (although they remind me of Pixie Sticks!)...and go with spoon straws! I found a set of 4 at William Sonoma about 3 years ago (their online catalog doesn't carry them anymore)...however I did find the same item at Target.

What I like about these is they are metal--so they get COLD which is wonderful in the summer time!
