Entertaining: Appetizer Slideshow at Martha Stewart

We find that the hardest part of planning a dinner party is finding new, interesting appetizers to serve. Martha to the rescue...

There's a slideshow on the Martha Stewart website right now with 21 beautiful starters. Some are more expensive and complicated than others (like the Chive Blini with Creme Fraiche, Quail Eggs, and Tarragon, above right) but there are plenty of easy dips and bruschettas, too.

We loved the looks of the Artichoke Bruschetta and Pita Crisps with Feta-Radish Spread (above, left).

There are also some Grilled Shitake Mushrooms on Rosemary Skewers — a trend, given what we read in today's NY Times?

Overall, the photos are nice inspiration for an upcoming party. You could also combine several of the recipes for a picnic spread.

Somebody in my house bought some in a can. I think he got them from an Asian food store.
