Big Sales in Chelsea NYC

There are some deals to be had downtown. Sneak out of the office on this rainy morning and head to the area around 17th Street and 7th Avenue. Here's just some of what's you'll find.

The Arte Italia glasses (pictured) plus some bowls and mugs for $4-12 per piece are at Housing Works, 143 West 17th Street. The thrift shop has a large quantity of these new in boxes. They are available in multiple jewel colors. These seem to be over-the-top in a fun way.

Williams-Sonoma, 110 7th Avenue, is discontinuing the Kitchen Aid Pro Line. Their remaining stock is available at serious sale prices. The Pro blender is $109.99, marked down from $229.95 and the toaster is $119.99 from $249.95. A sales guy told me there's some amazing horsepower and durability in this line.

There's also linens on sale at 50-75% off at Williams-Sonoma. A comfy quilted blue table runner is now $29.99. I picked up some paisley Provencal-style placemats for $5.99 each, down from $12. This is one of the rare instances where I found that the sales in store far beat out the offerings on Williams-Sonoma's site. The sale book table is hidden in a corner, but don't miss it.

If you've got any shop left in you after these two stops, visit West Elm (112 West 18th Street). They have cloth napkins ($1.99) and some black bamboo style candlesticks.

Pull the deals together from these three shops and you'd have some bright (cheap) ways to set your table this winter. Anyone else see some good sales?

The Fishs Eddy Brooklyn Heights store is closing...
everything is 75% off; there still was a LOT there this Sunday. I think it's open through next weekend...I got a glass vase, eight drinking glasses, six white plates and two mugs for a total of $17.
