eBay Scavenger: Pyrex Bowls

2007_10_02-Scavenger.jpg

Pyrex dishes and the fall - they seem to go together. Why? Maybe it's the return to cooler weather and warm dishes. Maybe it's the memories of going back to school and family suppers. Regardless, we love browsing for vintage Pyrex on eBay. Here's an example of the vintage goodness you can find: two baby blue Pyrex casserole dishes. They're currently going for $8.99 with shipping $10. The auction ends October 7.

More vintage Pyrex and our other eBay picks of the day below the jump.

We like this little set of colorful nesting Pyrex bowls, too. They're going for $24 and the auction ends October 8.

Don't forget that you can post your own kitchen and tabletop items for sale at The Kitchen's classifieds!

I love the primary colored bowls, but it galls me that something I grew up with is considered vintage. In fact, they were calling it vintage by the '80s, which ticked my mother off, even as she tucked ours away in the basement to protect them.

I love vintage pyrex and glasbake dishes. I have a collection of baby blue snowflake pattern casserole dishes. My next goal is to score a set of bowls in a classic pattern for a non-exorbitant price (pyrex is a huge collectible)

I bought a set of orange and yellow "Cinderella" bowls...forget the pattern name, but it was from the 60s...at the "Big Flea" in DC. $50. It was crazy to me, but I fell in love. I told my mom (because they had a set that she had from the 70s) and she thought I was nuts....but then asked me how Ebay worked!

I love these! They remind me of my grandma's (except her bowls were olive green with little flowers on them). This color would go perfectly with my house colors. My house is comprised of light blue and sort of a sage-y green so I need these! Damn e-bay is restricted here at work!
