Here's something a little unusual - we've never seen one before. It's a Bowlwhip butterchurn, basically a handbeater attached to a small glass jar. The seller says that the elderly owner whipped her own butter in it. It's a very cool antique, a memory of when whipped butter didn't come in tubs. It's a little pricey - $29.99 plus at least $10 shipping. Auction ends May 28.

My Mom's got one of these. Whenever there is company over and pie with whipped cream are about to be served, she passes this around to everybody to get their turn whipping the cream that is about to adorn their desert. It's a fun tradition.
