eBay Scavenger: Antique Porcelain Whisk

2007_10_10-eBay.jpg

We love our whisks and have several kinds - balloon, flat-bottomed, silicone - but we've never seen a porcelain version! The seller says that this antique porcelain whisk originated in 1920s Poland, and that it's in great condition but probably best-suited for decoration only. Anyone ever used a porcelain whisk like this?

This is currently going for $9.99. Shipping is $6.50 and the auction ends October 13. More eBay picks (and pics) after the jump...

We used a similar "whisk" growing up, although ours was plastic. Its actually pretty easy to use, holding the whisk upright in the bowl, with both hands flat against each other with the whisk in the middle, you just roll your hands back and forth against each other, making the whisk turn quickly through whatever you're mixing. Kind of a manual electric mixer, really. Definitely won't get you fluffy egg whites like a real whisk would...
