In Cleveland they have a history of Spam (which happens to be quite interesting!) and an ongoing profile of a 4-H teen and her competition steer. They also offer nine steps for a clambake and a lively discussion of the price differences in shopping at farmers markets.

In Boston there's a recipe for a fun kids' party - Chefs at Play. They also give advice on choosing fall fruit, a recipe for chocolate pinata cake, and a review of the new Italian cookbook Cucina del Sole.

curious as to why the DC roundup always includes the Wash Times and not the Post. Not a criticism, but it's an interesting choice.

Silly reason: I made up a list of bookmarks awhile ago, quickly, and still work off that. (Nothing ideological ;-) I will add the Post, and if anyone else has local newspapers with good food sections post it and I will include in roundup from time to time.
