In California the San Francisco Chronicle does homemade burritos, Dungeness crab, and a taste test of canned root beers.

In Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, there's some excellent recipes, including one for Smoked Salmon Cheescake, Shrimp with Champagne Beurre Blanc, and Oregon Blue Vein Buttermilk Biscuits.

The Morning News in Dallas, Texas, has gin tasting notes, South Beach Balsamic Glazed Sirloin Steak, and some great appetizers.

And in Indianapolis, Indiana, they're talking about roasted rack of pork and pasta arrabiata.

The Chicago Tribune food section has a fascinating article on the highly praised Maytag blue cheese made in, of all places, Iowa. Maytag blue has been aged in caves since long before anyone ever attached the word artisanal to food. There are recipes too, including a martini with blue cheese [it's stuffed into the olives]. And there's a separate article about pairing wines with blue cheese.
