
The July/August issue of Cook's Illustrated is educational and interesting as always. They have some good instructions for freezing summer produce and perfecting a pasta caprese. They also rate garlic presses, choosing the Kuhn Rikon 2315 ($34.99) as their best buy.
More summer recipes and tips abound, including grilled chicken breasts and garlic potatoes, authentic Texas brisket, and ways to make really good lamb gyros at home (pan-fried lamb patties get the best taste). Rustic plum cake and blueberry scones round out the tested recipes - this issue is definitely worth picking up!
