Top Chef Finale: Who Will Win?

Well, we've recovered from our Mardi Gras hangover, and we're all set for tonight's finale of Top Chef in New Orleans. From what we've read, it's close. We're hooting for Carla, but we have a feeling Stefan will win. What do you think?

Stefan seemed like a shoo-in from the beginning, but I really love Carla, and she's been proving herself more and more.

I'm still thinking I might put my money on Stefan, but I'm hoping for Carla.

ditto! i want carla to win too. although hosea can be a wild card - depends if he plays smart on his dishes. Hosea can cook if he sticks to his game plan. Oh...I am not a big fan of Stephan - cocky (he calls it "passion for cooking"...BS. I love cooking and I love to work with others and learn from them). I would have loved Fabio to represent European Team.

I predict that Stefan will be overconfident and underwhelming, Hosea will spend too much energy obsessing about Stefan, and Carla will take the prize.

At least, I hope that's what happens.

What heather77 said.

Carla was NOT my favorite to begin with - all the "love" talk about did me in. She has, however, revealed strength, character, and a classy modesty that has completely won me over. Plus, she clearly has mad skills. She pays attention, and that counts for a LOT.

Go Carla! Hootie Hoo!

i'm with mpw above. i really want it to be carla, but i think stefan could pull it off. hosea can go home and cry that he lost top chef and his girlfriend.

I think, nay, hope that the baldies will be so busy trying to out-cook/out-ego each other that Carla will hootie-hoo her way to the win!

I hope Carla wins but am thinking it will probably be Stefan. He probably learned his lesson about being overconfident after the last episode.

Well, obviously Top Chef is not about who did the best the entire season, but just in the final challenge. And I do think the winner (I won't spoil) did indeed produce the best meal of the night. Precise, creative, beautiful plating. Deserved for TONIGHT, but I don't think any of the 3 were 100% consistent. I can't say I really was hoping for any of them, and can't say I'd be any more happy if a different one won. All I can say is..everyone did something that was SO a few years ago.. bleh.

It was a worse ending than last season when Lisa almost won! Ugh! It was all Casey's fault.

Comicgeek, I disagree, as Casey's ideas could've been set aside as too contrary to the chef's central culinary philosophy. Believe me, I was bummed about the outcome, too, but all things considered for that single night, the best chef won.
