Are we almost there yet? After a summer full of food reality, there's just two more episodes of Top Chef left before we have a winner. The first part of the finale airs tonight on Bravo.
Who will take the prize? How do you think Season 3 compares to the past two seasons? We hid the poll after the jump so we don't spoil anything for those who are still catching up on Tivo ...

now that it's the finale, why is hung acting like he has a soul by mentioning how much is family means to him and being an immigrant, etc.
he's been a jerk the entire season and now he wants to act all humble?? what an act!

In a way I've stopped caring. I thought that Tre was the most talented Chef of all three seasons and after he got booted I felt a deeper sense of entertainment as opposed to integrity.
The chefs remaining after Tre's departure, aside from Hung and Casey (sp?), all played it very safe. While I don't think Hung is as talented as Tre, he is, in my opinion, the best of the rest.

I agree with SeanC that Tre was probably the most talented (and professional) chef on the show. I hated to see him go.
I think Top Chef is still a very NYC-state-of-mind restaurant show and that Hung fits the description of a competitive, innovative chef better than any of the contestants. Not that I would vote for him, but if you recall, the original winner of the last season was supposed to be Marcel (a friend of Hung, by the way). There was a mistake in that a gourmet mag (I forget which one) did an online interview of the winner, Marcel, which somehow got posted on the magazine's site and seen by viewers. The producers had to scramble and shoot another ending, hence the ascendancy of Ilan. For all these reasones, I think Hung will win. Not my choice.
