We were captivated by this photo from Serious Eats. It's a photo of a whole bowl of piñones, or pine nuts, that Robyn Lee discovered on her recent trip to Chile. These, however, are more the size of full-size beans than the tiny garnish nuts we know and love here. Read all about mapuche piñones and the tree they come from over at Serious Eats.
More from Serious Eats below, including Jack Black's favorite foods, a dairy shortage in Japan, and more.

I'm glad Jack Black can afford to eat at restaurants.
Kona Kampachi is quite delicious. I've prepared it sashimi style and have grilled it. I've also deep fried the collar bones for a little snack. Artic Char is another overlooked environmentally friendly aquafarmed fish that is quite delicious. And the Char is coming from the Pacific Northwest (less of a carbon footprint if you are in the cont. US.)
