Instead of our fleeting weekly blog roundups, we're going to take a little more time to spotlight some of our favorite food blogs. There's a wealth of diverse experience and recipes out there, and we'd like to highlight more.
Simply Recipes is a food blog that we have enjoyed and admired for a long time. Elise Bauer writes this blog that is simply written, to-the-point, and well-photographed. It is, indeed, simply recipes. Most of the recipes are Bauer's or her parents. She often cooks with her parents and inserts gentle stories of growing up and the way they liked to cook.
Her recipes are unfailingly great, and we think this is why so many people return again and again. We like her enormous recipe archive and certainly have drawn a lot of inspiration from her unpretentious, delicious style of home cooking.

Excellent link! I can't wait to try that blender trick, and "unpretentious" is perfect for a newbie like me.

I use the mason jar trick all the time too. The hardest part was finding one single mason jar (I ended up getting some Italian thing at the Container Store).
