Restaurant Reproductions: Gotham Bar & Grill's Pasta Special

[As you know, this is a site about cooking, not restaurants. However, it is not to say that we never eat out. We do, on occasion, and always find it an opportunity to cull new inspiration for cooking. 'Restaurant Reproductions' will be an occasional feature on the site (contributions welcomed!)]

Restaurant-Reproductions.jpgLast Thursday, to celebrate the launch of the blog, we indulged in a late-night tuck-in and a shared bowl of pasta at the bar at Gotham. The pasta, a Mezzi Rigatoni with Chorizo, Manila Clams, Black Forest Ham, Tomato Sauce and Green Herbs, was so delicious that we tackled it the next night, cooking in with some friends.

The result was not nearly as fine as Gotham's. But it was still a very fine dish. Read below for the recipe.

Oh, I got my hopes up that you'd do the recipe for split pea soup from Tom's Restaurant.

Split pea -- as I recall the only difference between the split pea, cream of mushroon and tomato soup was the color!
