Harvest Month: Looking for... Farm and Market Reports

2007_10_11-Market.jpgIt's Harvest Month here and Fall Colors Month at our sister home sites, and we're still looking for local reports on the harvest color and seasonal markets where you live.

Are you picking pumpkins? Visiting a local apple orchard? Finding autumn bounty at your local farmers market? Send us a brief report and some photos, and we'll send you a small gift as a thank you.

Leave a comment here if you're interested, and we'll get in touch, or you can email us here.

The Green City Market in Chicago has been whittled down to the heartier offerings. Lots of honey crisp apples and squash. There were still a fair amount of herbs and vegetables to be had. That may change if this week dips into freezing territory.

There is one woman named Oriana who sells paw paws and black walnuts. I would highly recommend visiting her next week in hopes of there being paw paw available. They are only available from Sept. to Oct. and are an unusually delicious delicacy.
