That kale, above, makes for great chips.

Toss in a little e.v.o. and bake in the oven for til they just start to brown and then sprinkle with sea salt.

Muchas vitaminas!

Great idea Art! That is one of my favorite ways to eat kale!

This weekend I'll be cooking FALL foods for the first time all year. The weather is definitely turning here in northern CA. In fact, I have a pot of three bean chili on the stove right now.

Pizza with smoked mozz, tomatoes, basil and mushrooms tonight; hubby is smoking some St Louis style spareribs tomorrow night. Tomorrow morning I am going to try my hand at the dutch apple pancake that is on the cover of the lates (September?) Cooking Light.

Pork over onions with apples, brown sugar and homemade cranberry sauce, creamed peas and new potatoes. It's been cold, rainy and miserable here for the last few days, and we needed some serious fall comfort food. Tomorrow, we head to the farmer's market and base our meal off what we find there. Hopefully, the weather will clear up!

I'm going to bake tiny animal cookies dipped in white chocolate (colored pink) with rainbow sprinkles. Very much like the pink-frosted animal cookies in a bag from the grocery store from childhood. For some reason I've been thinking about those, and found a decent recipe for them, wish me luck!

I loved those animal cookies!

Grilled clams, vegetables, and chicken skewers at our friend's house tonight. Some sort of berry dessert.

I'm also going to put up some plum sauce for gifts and for the pantry. I always crave it in the winter, uh, when there aren't any plums around. :)

Paula Deen's Southern Pecan brownies. They're the essence of sin & decadence.

I've got some chicken thighs marinating in yogurt and spices for a tandoori sort of grill, and I'm exploring whether there are any Indian-themed spinach or green bean recipes I can use on this week's greenmarket haul.

Breakfast this morning was an unadorned peach.
