We have bacon wrapped pepperoncini peppers with a spice rub on them. They are grilled for about 10 minutes and are a great snack! A good tip is to squeeze the juices out of the peppers before you wrap them and pin them with a toothpick.

halve jalapenos, place a piece of queso fresco in them, wrap in bacon, par-cook them in the oven for 20 minutes the night before, finish on the grill.

Bacon wrapped green beans. Marinade in worchestershire, garlic, whatever other seasonings on hand. Wrap a few in a slice of bacon and grill. yum!

Well, I've got to host one in two weeks for our crowd of about twenty, and, while I'm still tweaking the menu, I'm thinking: pulled pork sandwiches (maybe a muffaletta too), baked beans, some slaw for the sandwiches, brownies and cookies, various crudites and chips and dips, some homemade beef jerky, and lots of drinks. Perhaps some chili or bean soup, too, if the weather turns cold by then. Thank goodness my turn is only once per season!

I'm so excited to see the "healthier hot wings" recipe.
I'm from Buffalo NY, the mecca of what truly is a "Buffalo" Wing, and while they are great for a huge indulgence just a few times a year (I think it's programmed into my DNA to love hot wings), I'll have to try these to see if they can satisfy the craving without using a week's worth of fat allowance!
As for non-wing related tailgate food, it's all about shrimp tacos with refried beans (which are awesome home made)!

Turkey meat balls.
I make them with chili sauce in the crock pot for about three hours. Or, on the skillet until they are almost done and throw them in the crockpot for about 30-45 minutes to finish cooking. Soooooo good.

How about non-fried wings?
These aren't hot, but you could douse them with hot sauce.
And boy are they good!
