Bread week couldn't have occurred at a better time. I just received delivery of a Christmas Gift: The book "Artisan Bread in 5 Minutes a Day." I plan to start my first loaf this evening. I'm very excited about the book and because of it I'm convinced I'll be eating a lot more homemade bread and pizza. If you haven't heard about it, check it out:

For the past couple of weeks I have made a few of the "almost no-knead bread" from the latest Cook's Illustrated. It is so easy and the results are amazing. No more store-bought bread for me. They also have a video podcast on I-tunes of the recipe. Search "Cook's Illustrated" in I-tunes to find it.
