Ken Sloan is a 24-year-old guy in Alberta, Canada, who is "a far cry from a professional chef" but passionate enough about food that he's decided to cook himself a different dinner every night in 2006, and post the evidence on his blog, A Food Year.
He even has a store set up already, selling shirts, magnets, canvas shopping bags, and recipe journals.
How very Rachael Ray of him...

that is a serious dedication.
i could never do what he's doing, simply because, soon after beginning, i would ineviably have a wicked crappy day at work, and then end up at my fave watering hole, eating a dinner of peanuts, and the olives garnishing my extra dirty vodka martini (okay, martinis!)
even if i picked the peanuts myself, i dont think that would clear the concept ;-)
aww.. thanks for the post, I really appreciate it :)
Hmmm...riding on the coat tails of Julie & Julia success. I'm not impressed.
By the way, it is very cool of you to use Powell's instead of Amazon or B&N when linking to books. :-)
I did not find out about the existence of such a book until after committing to this idea and someone sharing the link. I do think that it's fantastic that she managed to land a deal doing what she did. I hope that opens up more opportunities for other bloggers -- there are many blogs out there worthy of book deals that I've came across in the last month.
However, I think that my project is very dissimilar from Julie & Julia as I understand it and don't see how any successes or failures will be construed as riding on the coat tails of her or anyone whatsoever :)
