Good Product? Keepeez Vacuum-Sealed Lids

2008_05_19-Keepeez.jpgWe were reading the comments on our post about storing leftovers and noticed ksmile's enthusiastic endorsement of Keepeez lids.

When we went looking for more information, we found a promo video on You Tube that has some really catchy sound effects, and now we want some lids for ourselves (mission accomplished, promo video). Click below for the link...

The cool thing about Keepeez is that while you can buy containers that match up with the lids, you don't have to. Stick a lid over any bowl, jar, or glass, as long as it's smaller than the lid, and press the trampoline-ish middle. It creates a vacuum seal that's released when you lift it.

Sounds smart to us. It reduces your need for plastic wrap and seems to be faster and tidier. Ksmile likes the fact that they are flat and easy to store.

Here's the link to the You Tube video: Keepeez Promo

You can buy lids and containers at the Keepeez website or on Amazon.

Anyone else out there using these?

Bed Bath & Beyond sells them as well. Use their 20% coupon and you're good to go!

I'm glad I'm not the only one who's gotten sucked in by the commercial! The only problem I see would be side-by-side storage IN the fridge---I assume that because the lids look pretty big, they'd take up a lot of room unless I stacked them vertically.

Preocupada: You can absolutely stack them. They don't come un-sealed unless you hit the button. I can't rave about this solution enough. I saw this at the Chicago Home show and was blown away by how practical it was.

I was curious about these, but it looks like the plastic top will break pretty soon. How long do they last? I was also looking at these Kuhn Rikon Magic Covers. They seem like they're sturdier.

IKEA sells a version of these, for very cheap. THey are white with a reddish purple lid. (Actually, the lid is clear but the rim is red). They come in about 6 sizes.
