One of the things we've enjoyed most about seeing a little more of our readers' kitchens is the history those objects often bring. So many of you have showed us tools or treasures from your family's past, like this copper jelly mold from DM. It dates all the way back to the turn of the last century, when her grandmother was a cook at Oxford University. DM says:
Here are a couple of things from my kitchen!
• 1 Gran's copper jelly mold. Gran was a cook at Oxford University (England) around the turn of the century. She was given this mold when she left. Neat. Started me on my collection.
• 2 Life size chicken and chicks. Reminds me of dad as he raised chickens - and also the success I've had in chicken contests!
• 3 Butter mold prints.Originally they were the center of pillows but I cut them down to fit in my kitchen.
• 4 Dad's knife sharpener. I remember his using it every time before he carved the meat! It's about 15 inches long.
