I live in a 1900's flat with little cabinet space and recently bought my first set of pots and pans (been cooking in the set my mother received as a wedding gift 35 years ago). Being reluctant to use screws or nails (and also not sure how much weight the old plaster walls would hold), I came up with an idea for a pot rack for my pantry door.

It involves two good-quality metal over-the-door hooks, two replacement grates from an outdoor grill and some s-hooks. It's sturdy, works great, fits into a cramped space, and I was able to get everything for under $50 at my local hardware store. Since the grates come in a variety of sizes, it would be something that anyone with a door in their kitchen could put together rather quickly.
