Food News: New and Improved Spaghetti Tree Released

2008_04_01-SpaghettiTree.jpgNow we can all grow our own spaghetti in our backyards!

Swiss scientists have now eradicated the dreaded spaghetti weevil, so home gardeners can now grow their own spaghetti in their backyards. No more wasteful cardboard boxes! The spaghetti grows fresh on the tree and is the perfect length. We're very excited about this and have placed our orders at the nursery.

Hurry and get your spaghetti tree; we predict that this trend will take off and the trees will be in high demand with long waiting lists.

Pictures! I always thought this was just a radio-based story.

My English MIL says she remembers this being on TV, on the popular news program "Panorama." Apparently people called the BBC afterward wanting to know how to grow their own spaghetti... the operators told them to "stick a sprig of spaghetti in a tin of tomato sauce and hope for the best."
