1. bring lunch to work at least 3 times a week.
2. learn how to roast a chicken.
3. learn how to cook steak.
4. clean up kitchen entirely after dinner.
5. waste less food.
i was vegetarian for 19 years, so i am just starting to learn about meat!
also, i wanted to thank everyone who recommended coffee makers and rice/slow cookers to me recently. i now have a Sanyo ECJ-D55S Rice Cooker and a Black & Decker DCM2500B SmartBrew Coffeemaker and i love waking up to steel cut oats and coffee every day!

I would like to take a basic cooking class to learn better knife skills, mine are fair at best. I would also like to focus on adding even more whole foods that make me feel better and connected to my body. One way I have started is by taking advantage of some days I had off to make up a big batch of chicken soup, beef stew, and lasagna and freezing for when things inevitably get crazy and I don't have the time to make it. And keep reading this site daily for inspiration!

We're trying to cook every day--well, every weekday, at least.

1. Cook ahead and freeze so I never have to come home from travel to no meals in the house.
2. Don't let food go bad/moldy.
3. Bring lunch to work 3x/week. Minimum.

1. Bring lunch to week 4 times a week.
2. Go to the farmers market at least every 2 weeks.
3. Use the fruit/veggies from the farmers markets before they go bad!
4. Try new recipes and update cooking journal more than once a month.

mfm, i love that you wrote learn to roast a chicken! i was vegetarian for a long time as well and just recently roasted my first chicken.
i was in tears but decided that if i am going to eat meat, i need to respect it and learn to prepare it and appreciate it every step of the way. i was so proud and my first roasted chicken was delicious!

mfm, it was a really emotional experience but i felt good afterwards knowing that i made it from start to finish--it was really important for me to learn to do that by myself as well, completely understand what you are saying.
