Sharp cheddar cheese, sliced apples, and popcorn, made in a heavy pot with realllll butter and just a little salt. It's a terrific combination of flavors. Pass the napkins.

we finally got some garlic scapes from our CSA! Also, strawberry ice cream with berries from our garden, grilled veggies, and salad with mint, radishes, cucumbers, feta, and harukei turnips.

Normally I try to make something new every day, but it was so good we can't stop thinking (and talking!) about it, so it is time for round two.

Italian beef sandwiches with sweet potato oven-baked fries. The rest of the rare beef is going into sandwiches for the car when we drive to Kentucky (from Illinois) tomorrow. I also hope to eat a lot of barbeque while in Kentucky next week.

For anyone who enjoyed the broccoli-feta pasta sauce featured a few weeks ago, I found myself with a little left over, not enough to save for saucing pasta. I scrambled it with an egg and it was delicious! Not super attractive--the result looked like slightly mashed broccoflower--but very tasty.

Grilled flank steak in a "bloody mary marinade" courtesy of Sunset Magazine; arugula, blueberry and feta salad; and baking right now for later, plum and port tart. Hubby also whipped up some daquiris with fresh strawberries from the farmers market. Made me wish I was on an island.

I'm making a mini-batch of pesto with the first of the basil from my garden. The smell of newly picked basil tops is like nothing else!

Rare for me, I'm making something I've made before: http://coconutlime.blogspot.com/2008/04/smoky-mango-pulled-pork.html
