I made some yummy strawberry lemon stilton scones this week.... but the recipe came out kind of 'cakey' does anyone have a more "biscuity" recipe?

I think it's kinda funny that there's an advertisement for that yucky Campbell's soup chicken-n-rice-with-soup-casserole on The Kitchn. Is anyone monitoring the adverts here? That recipe, made with those products.......doesn't it kind of go against the grain of what The Kitchn is about?

What recipe did you use for your scones? Also the light fluffy sort of biscuits or the denser, heavier "dinner" buscuits--normally I see scones that are more the latter but since I've moved to Ireland I've been having fresh ones that are much lighter and fluffier and I find them delicious, but I don't know how they would hold up to heavier ingredients. Anyway, what are you looking for?

Also, I'm living alone again for the first time in a long while... What are some of your favorite recipes/cookbooks for small, one or two person portion sizes?

Leah Hope: I used this one http://www.recipelink.com/cookbooks/2007/1593376901_2.html I was looking for the heavier , crumblier (sp?) type.

Also I can't remember what recipe site, but one of them allows you to change the serving numbers and adjusts the recipe accordingly

Is Apartment Therapy looking to add more cities to the list? Seattle would be a great one. *hint hint*

I'd try upping the flour to an even 2 or even 2 and a half cups and cutting down the eggs by one perhaps? Also perhaps more butter, less cream. I know a lot of people that also use yogurt instead of cream, although I don't think that would change your consistency much, just your calorie count.
I don't have the recipes I've used in the past, but these look promising:
