We're eating roasted rabbit, of course. Stuffed with apple and fennel. Yay Easter!

Hi everyone! I have a question. I'm looking for a cute magnetic spice rack. I loved the large one at Chiasso but it is unfortunately not available. I think I saw one at this one site...it was something weird...like mxylplyx. I can't remember the name, if that rings any bells please let me know. I really need to get one for my "cure." :) Thanks in advance!

Lexo; costplus world imports has one in which the magnetized cans are bright red or silver however they don't sell the racks you have to find them your self. But I am sure it would not be that hard to find a metal strip to attach somewhere in your kitchen.

Rabbit sounds delicious and very appropriate!

My wife will be baking a cake. Something to do with grapefruit compote, mint, brandied cherries.

i have a question i hope a writer for the kitchn will make a topic for a post. ;)

i put my toaster/toaster oven away some time ago to make room for a kitchen aid mixer in my tiny kitchen. i use the mixer a ton, and hardly miss the toaster at all. but, every once in a while, i do want some toasted bread, and i tend to want it quickly, which makes waiting for the oven to heat up (for two measly slices of toast) annoying. i'd like to get rid of the toaster altogether. if i do so, is there any decent way to make toast on my stove top using pans i already own? or must i buy one of these things? i have a gas range, if that matters.

You can get clear-top tins from suppliers like Specialty Bottle, and they're a tenth the price of buying them from Cost Plus. Throw in a magnetized knife strip from Ikea, and you're set.

I went vegetarian for Lent, so I'm trying my hand at making beef bourguignon. Bacon beef chocolate (!!!) plus a bottle of wine = yum. Also some grilled asparagus, a salad, a simple yellow cake with strawberries, and a bottle of Mountain Dew for my husband. He can't celebrate without it. :)

no family get-together for easter. I had lunch at a neighborhood himalayan restaurant. They have great samosas, pyramid shaped, like mini Mt. Everests. It was served with curried chickpeas. Also very yummy

lindsey,
A childhood friend grew up without a toaster. Her family's "toasting solution" was to throw a little butter into a cast-iron pan and fry the bread until crispy. It might not work for all situations, but I thought it made fabulous toast.

i picked up quinoa, celery, spring garlic, leeks, and fresh milk this afternoon at my co-op but a glass bottle vs. asphalt incident has left me a little too bummed to cook tonight. i guess it i was lying when i told the clerk to bag it all in one... i said it'd make things easier.

@lexo, i've seen the magnetic tin spice racks (with rotating lid for dispensing) at cost plus.

Lindsey,
would a camping toaster work over a gas burner?

Something like this: I remember making toast on these things when I was little.
