Has anyone kept a cream soup warm in the crockpot?
Our Christmas Day festivities generally involve a hike in the woods, and then we come home to homemade cream of mushroom soup.. but usually everyone waits around while I heat up and finish the soup. I'd like to completely make the soup ahead of time and just keep it in a crockpot on warm. Will it curdle?

anyone have a recipe that would use up my 3 cups of leftover buttermilk? full-fat, of course. (we do not own an ice cream maker, alas)

use the buttermilk to make ricotta cheese perhaps?

Marinate chicken pieces overnight and then fry (oven or traditional) them.

make buttermilk pancakes, buttermilk biscuits, ranch dressing or banana bread.
my question is about dough. i'm going to make cinnamon rolls with a cream cheese glaze on christmas morning. the recipe says to make the dough in a stand mixer with the dough attachment. i don't have the dough attachment. can i use my food processor with the dough blade? if not, how how long do i knead it by hand?
here's the recipe: http://www.bonappetit.com/magazine/2008/04/cinnamon_rolls_with_cream_cheese_glaze
thanks!

Cassiopia - I've made bread w/both the food processor and the stand mixer. Both work well. Good luck.

Does anyone have a recommendation on smaller-sized crock pots? I live by myself and would like to start using a crock pot, but the 5-6 quart versions are way too big. I also noticed that most smaller versions are not programmable. Any advice is greatly appreciated!

joieb - I just bought this 5.5 quart slow cooker as a wedding present. It's still big, yes, but my thought is that it doesn't hurt to have the extra room. You can braise large cuts of meat (cheap ones!) and freeze pulled pork or beef stew for later meals.
I also bought this cookbook to accompany the slow cooker: Not Your Mother's Slow Cooker Recipes for Two. You can still make
