Whole Foods Twitter

2008_08_04-WholeFoodsTwitter.gifTwitter is a free micro-blogging service that allows users to send updates of up to 140 characters in length. Most updates come from mobile phones, which makes Twitter an useful service for blogging "on the fly." Many companies' marketing teams are embracing social networking in order to reach a wider audience, and Whole Foods is one such company.

Where most companies are using Twitter to simply make announcements, Whole Foods are using Twitter to actually interact with their customers; subscribers can request new Whole Foods locations, make inventory suggestions, request refunds, and more. This is taking customer service to a completely new level, and we like it. No more standing in line or being on hold on the phone - simply type a few characters on your cell phone and send. Nice!

Do you use Twitter? Do you follow any food-related Twitters?

I am on twitter and 99% of my Twitter friends are food bloggers/writers so it is pretty much all about food!

I have a Twitter or two feed in my google RSS. Some Twitter feeds are not amusing, while some are. I would like to see how Twitter from a store--Whole Foods--pans out. Seems like just another way to take our "Whole Paycheck." I feel a barrage of tweets coming in with this, so I'd like someone else to do my research on it.

I personally don't send tweets and I read Twitters lightly.

Began tweeting a couple of months ago as part of my gig at Everyday Food. Thought I'd be doing a lot of talking but am doing a lot more in the way of listening--hearing what fans are looking for and what foodies are excited about. The whole thing is much more interesting than I would have guessed! I look at Twitter as one more way to connect with folks with likeminded interests--I respect what Whole Foods is up to (I happen to follow, FWIW).

I've been on twitter for a while and have recently started following a bunch of food and baking bloggers - including @everydayfooddeb and her colleagues! I also follow Whole Foods and some other companies, including Jet Blue and Zappos. Nice to know that reaching out to these companies is only a 140-character message away! FWIW - I noticed that Whole Foods has been giving out gift cards to people based on favorite tweets of the day.

I have been really getting into Twitter, and am really looking forward to checking out Whole Foods-related tweets. Being in the NYC metro area, there are lots of Whole Foods, and I'm still a big fan of the company.
