They're $7.99, down from $14.00. They also have a Krups Ice Cream Maker for nearly half-price, and a lot of marked-down fall and winter table linens.

• Sur La Table tends to have rather small price discounts in their sale area, but their Professional HD Hard-Anodized Nonstick 8-Piece Cookware Set is down to $149.95 from $249.95 - not a bad deal.

• Crate & Barrel's Outlet has a lovely Copper Casserole for $47.95 and sales on that gorgeous Tierra Negra cookware we've been coveting.

Sur La Table has nationwide clearance sales twice per year in January and July. The best time to check out majorly marked down items.

Seeing this Krups ice cream maker on sale prompted a question I've been meaning to ask. I want an ice cream maker, live in nyc so the outdoor/rock salt/old fashioned type is out of the question. I have a Kitchenaid stand mixer and have thought about getting the ice cream bowl attachment for it. Does anyone have opinions? It would take up less space than buying a separate ice cream maker, and it seems to make sense...

I have the attachment for the KitchenAide mixer and i really like it. It's VERY easy to use, and the icecream comes out just as good as using the old fashioned kind.
