Trader Joe's Pantry: Anelletti Pasta

2008_04_09-Anellitti.jpgCheerios? Tiny rubber bands? Spaghetti-Os? Nope - none of the above. This is Trader Joe's new anelletti pasta, and we're smitten.

These little round rings cook up in just 15 minutes, and we found that they had a nice firm al dente texture, and they slip easily over the tines of a fork. They held our sausage and greens very well and we really liked the taste and feel.

Try these in dishes calling for orecchiette or fusilli.

Ooh I grabbed a bag of these while quickly rushing through the aisles last weekend - I thought they'd work well in a soup, too!

catlike: a quick batch? I LOVE wedding soup, but how do you quickly make the meatballs? This sounds great!

Try it in Trader Joe's Tomato soup (the low-sodium version if you prefer). Mmmmm... instant childhood!
