Peanut Butter Contamination

2007_02_16_peterpan.jpgEarly this morning, the AP reported a recall on Peter Pan and some Wal-Mart Great Value peanut butter. The peanut butter is linked to a salmonella outbreak.

While the jokes about choosy moms choosing Jiff have already begun, this blogger's story of being "violently ill for 3 days after eating a peanut butter and jelly sandwich" is noting to laugh at.

I Hide Yarn said, "We were some sick puppies around here this week. I was blaming my husband's chili (oops) and it turned out to be the peanut butter sandwiches we ate with it."

The CBS Evening News used the peanut butter story as a lead in to a feature about U.S. food safety concerns.

That is serious, but really--peanut butter sandwiches with chili?

I second that concern. I mean the PB and chili one.
