Foragers Market is a sleek shop in hipster DUMBO run by Anna Castellani, the owner of the Dumbo General Store just down the street, and a few artists.
The shelves are stocked with everything from fancy jams to charcuterie. You can also stock up on butter, bread, meat as well as household goods and baby products, so it truly is a one-stop-shop for the gourmand in DUMBO.
You go, Brooklyn.

I've lived in Dumbo for two and a half years and while Foragers is nice, what we really need is a real supermarket. Foragers is great when you need fancy chocolate or cheese or sauces. It's very expensive -- my husband always comes home angry that it cost so much to buy whatever he picked out. They did once have these amazing red onion gorgonzola potato chips. Yum! But recently they've started making deli sandwiches -- I ordered a roast beef sandwich with cheddar on whole wheat bread and it was two slices of nothing-special-roast beef, a slight shaving of cheese and store bought pre-sliced whole wheat bread for $9! I think it was one of the worst deli sandwiches I've ever ever had. So Foragers is good, as long as you know what you're getting in to.
yes it is good for certain things....but stupidly expensive for many things...wake up guys....greed can eat you alive.

I have shopped at Forager's for the last 6 months. They have a unique blend of Item's And I have a few times requested help. And The young lady who heads's thier staff. (Stacy) I believe comes up with answer's to make sure I am satisfied before I leave. They might have item's that are expensive, But lets face it. We go for thier cooked chicken, Thier prepared food's and other things. We dont want to cook so they do it for us. Why should any of us complain about good food and excellent service.
I live in DUMBO and I think that Foragers is extremely overprice. I'm sure they don't sleep at night to think of new ways to get more money from their customers. I used to get the roasted chicken from them as it's pretty good and not so expensive and for the first time last evening they charged me to cut a chicken in 4 parts (saying that it was extra labour). It turned out that the "extra labour" costed me $8 on an $10 chicken. That is the last time I'm going to that store, they offend my sense of money value.
I'm just so happy that I don;t have to go to Peas and Pickles anymore! They've been taking advantage of their situation for years. Everything I've ever bought has been very good and their expensive stuff is expensive but their regular groceries seem about the same as everywhere else to me. I like having a better atmosphere to shop in.
At first I thought they were very expensive but through the last seven months Ive noticed a very fare price around the whole store. I've mostly enjoyed there back counter department in quality and customer service. I now know a lot more about cheese and charcuterie then I thought I ever would simply because Foragers staff cares about informing you on where there items come from.
Foragers may seem expensive to some people, but those are the folks that just want a cheap bargain, don't care about quality and should shop at a Pathmark. (No offense Pathmark). The quality is remarkable. They support sustainable, organic and small-farm agriculture. Rock-on guys. By the way, I live in Dumbo too.
I love Forager's Market!!! I thought they were more expensive the Peas and Pickles with standard ordinary grocieres until I started to compare prices and they are not!!! Peas and Pickles was more expensive on most Items, You can not walk out of that marker without someone asking you at least twice if you need assistance with anything, Which is amazing for the state of new york which does not have very good customer service, I think before we complain we should really check things out, I live in Dumbo and relieved that I can walk a block for good food and help
Thank You Foragers!!!!!!
