Recipe: Yogurt Panna Cotta

2006_01_25-pannacotta.jpgMy newest recipe over at Dannon is for Yogurt Panna Cotta with Wine-Simmered Cherries, which was an attempt at a restaurant reproduction of a dessert of a similar name served at August in the West Village.

This is a great dessert to make during the winter, using dried cherries, a nice rich red wine (or one left over from last night if you're that kind of drinker), and fresh, nutritious yogurt. In this case, I would even advocate (shhhh) going full-fat on the yogurt. Alas, for that, you'll have to use a different brand.

Would this work with low fat or non fat yogurt? Thx.

Definitely. The recipe on the Dannon site actually calls for non-fat or low-fat (since those are the Dannon products available here in the US) - so it's the kind of yogurt I tested the recipe with. Go for it - it's delicious!

This recipe looks great. Can't wait to try it out. Thanks Sara Kate. [BTW, how long will you be doing the Dannon food blog? Will I have to wait until summer for a yogurt/dill potato salad recipe?]
