Field Trip: COPIA - Napa's Center for Wine, Food, and Arts

2008_05_22-CopiaH.jpgMemorial for Robert Mondavi in the COPIA lobby. Mondavi passed away last Friday.

A few weeks ago, we made plans to visit a friend in Napa for the weekend. During the drive up Friday after work, we learned that Robert Mondavi had passed away that day. How synchronous that we were en route to Napa, the place that he helped to make what it is today.

COPIA is the American Center for Wine, Food, and the Arts located in downtown Napa. It's a lovely place to visit; it has a four-star restaurant, food-related art on display, wine tastings, a kitchen store, a wine shop, and an edible garden. We spent a lot of time in the garden and hope you enjoy the following photos.

We should all drink a toast to Robert Mondavi. (I did my capstone project for my MBA on his company and the global wine industry. With two non-drinkers out of the six of us, go figure!)
