Summer Cocktails! The Full Roundup

2009_06_19-DrinksTop.jpgLast year around this time we went on a major summer cocktail kick. There were gin gimlets, spiked boba, alcoholic vanilla milkshakes, mango coladas, drinks with basil and lemon and all other sorts of herbs. But we've published a few more since then, so here's a refreshed (and refreshing!) roundup of some serious summer cocktails. Read on for orange blossom fizz, elderflower cordial, margaritas to make you giggle, and more...

2009_06_19-Drinks.jpgRecipes, tips, basics like simple syrup, tools like that jigger cube, simple syrup with rosemary and DIY maraschino cherries, and more. Cocktails away!

The Jigger cube. My husband's a bartender and when he saw that, he snickered.
Imagine transporting liquid in it and trying not to have any of it slosh over the edge.

Key lime martinis have been my favorite that I've had so far. The half and half makes them frothy and the sweet lime taste is wonderful. I made them at a cocktail evening I threw and no one wanted anything else.

When I make lemon rosemary sorbet I reserve some of the mixture for cocktails. Mixed with gin or vodka and a little seltzer water (or plain water, but they do need a bit of diluting) it's a wonderful drink and very summery.
