Some kitchens just seem built for holiday cooking. This gracious kitchen from a traditional Los Angeles Craftsman home is one of those — it just looks like it was built to handle turkeys, pies, and hordes of relatives. Read on for more of this lovely kitchen with vintage built-ins and lots of light.
This kitchen is much bigger than our own, but it does remind us of our own 100-year-old bungalow home and the challenges of updating an older home while staying true to its roots. We really love this kitchen; we love how the marble and subtle gray paint are sleek and quietly modern, while complementing the old-fashioned stove and enormous bank of built-in storage.

I think I found my dream kitchen.

I could make that kitchen my entire living space.

The kitchen is lovely, but they should have updated the layout instead of just adding granite. It looks good but the work areas, such as they are, make no sense. I would hate cooking there.

It's beautiful, but I agree with elvedon. Where's the "triangle" of cooker/sink/fridge? And preparation area near the cooker or sink? That is not a cook's kitchen.

I really don't like those cheapo shelves flanking the very very expensive stove. Makes it look unplanned, plus they don't fit there very well.

i, for one, am not a big fan of the classic work triangle

I agree that it doesn't make sense to have the huge range with no work surface around it. Even worse, there doesn't appear to be any ventilation equipment for what appears to be a very powerful range. The best placement for the range would be against an exterior wall, with a powerful hood that vents directly outside (the more twists and turns in venting ducts, the less efficient the venting).
I'm afraid this is an example of form over function.

This looks like a beautiful kitchen for show, but would be terrible for cooking (despite all the high-end elements). Zero workspace - completely impractical.
But, agan, it looks real nice.

heather77, well said.
Without a ventilating system, I am afraid that the kitchen and immediate area need to be cleaned often. I will clean when they need to be cleaned badly. I wouldn't want a kitchen without a hood. That's me. Maybe there are other people out there have a great range but rarely cook. The range looks great. I love it.

Such a roomy kitchen, I'm jealous! I love the flower wall piece. I also love the pink color inside the cabinets, it gives it a special touch.
