2007_06_19_kitchen-arts-store-boston.JPGKitchen Arts brings Bostonians a wide variety of kitchen tools in this classy, small shop.

We were impressed with the organization and selection here, but a bit disappointed in the service.

We stood at the counter waiting for help for quite a while while two employees discussed their Bermuda Triangle party (BTW, what's a Bermuda Triangle party? Sounds fun!). We found two complaints about the service on Citysearch too.

Kitchen Arts has a collection of seafood paraphernalia for sale, from lobster bibs to the Clam Ram ("We haven't actually tested it, we just like to keep it around the store because our customers love the name and the packaging").

Check out Kitchen Art's unique online store too. Every item for sale in the small store is featured in quirky online video clips.

Thanks for posting about a Boston store! However, even though I've stopped in while shopping on Newbury Street, I'm not sure I'd ever buy anything there. There are stores that sell more interesting design-y stuff (Lekker home, koo de kir, Bliss home) and for basic cooking equipment this just seems overpriced and not very extensive.

a) a Bermuda Triangle Party is where sales people disappear when you're trying to check out.

b) I agree that Newbury Street has several more interesting shops selling kitchen/dining products. Unfortunately, like many of the more interesting shops on the street, more of them have closed than have remained open. Alianza, anyone?

Yeah I'm not a huge fan of Kitchen Arts- it feels like they're trying to pull off a higher end Bed Bath & Beyond or something. Walk down to the South End if you want quirky and unique kitchen/home goods.
