Kitchen Color Gallery: Blue Like Berries

From dusty, barely-there grey-blue to eye-popping turquoise, blue is one of the most popular and versatile colors in the kitchen. The right shades can serve old-school country kitchens stenciled in blue geese and vintage flags, then turn around and show off the most sleek and modern kitchen. Here are fifteen examples of blue kitchens from across our network, in all styles and shades of this favorite color. They are all so different, but the blue is lovely in all of them.

And tell us: do you have a blue kitchen? What's your favorite color blue to use in the kitchen?

I read somewhere that flies won't land on the color blue, which is why it was used in the first "modern efficiency" kitchen back in the 20's or 30's -- does anyone know if that's true, or if it's just an old wives tale?

Ha -- I found it! Here's the story -- so blue should be a good color for a kitchen!

robin's egg blue was the only color i thought would look awesome with our checkerboard floor and backsplash, and I was right...it ended up really making our kitchen pop, unlike the all-white walls prior - http://i61.photobucket.com/albums/h48/dlancioni/blue-kitchen1.jpg
