Have a Rental Kitchen? Do You Need a Kitchen Makeover?

Do you have a rental kitchen with old cabinets or terrible wallpaper? Are you stuck in an ugly kitchen that you don't have the power (or money) to remodel? We'd love to see it and offer any advice we can to help you spruce it up on a budget. We want to help you love your kitchen and cook in it more often!

Some of our favorite posts have been before and afters of rental (or owned) kitchen that have received mini-makeovers on a budget. Take the photo above, for instance. The residents couldn't swap out their old-school oak cabinets, but the yellow paint job really brightened up the kitchen (see full tour here).

We're looking for rental kitchens (or owned kitchens, that aren't immediately due for a real remodel) that would like a little help from our team and our readers. We'll post your kitchen photos and give suggestions for paint colors, accessories, and other tips.

Sometimes it just helps to have a fresh eye looking at your space — especially in the kitchen, which is usually more difficult to change or renovate than any other room in the house.

Want to submit your kitchen for a kitchen makeover? Send it in here!

I'm actually starting my kitchen overhaul tomorrow. I'm just ripping out the tile floor which was installed improperly and moves when you walk across it. Several tiles have cracked. There should be hardwood floors below as that is what the other units in the building all have. I just don't know the condition. I'm hoping to salvage them and maybe do a painted pattern. I'll take before and after photos and maybe submit them to AT at some point, assuming the project goes well. I've put it off for literally years fearing what I might find under the tile might not be salvageable. How bad can it be since I haven't fallen through the floor?

I desperately want to sign up, but alas, the landlord won't let me even paint.

If I could though, I would change the cabinetry and shelving right away.

dmstudio, oh yes please! Send us your progress and we'll cheer you on.

KidMoe - you're the perfect candidate, then! Send us what you've got, and your constraints, and we'll see if we can think of anything that will help.

When does the contest end? The boyfriend and I are moving into our first place together September 1st, and while we love it- the kitchen leaves something to be desired (no counter space, big, white. . .). We would love AT-K reader's advice!

KateInTheCity - This isn't a contest - just a new (and hopefully ongoing) feature that will always be open for submissions.

Oh my goodness, that kitchen looks *exactly* like mine. And we OWN. We've planned to overhaul the kitchen since we bought it but it's a big expense.

What happened with this? I only saw one kitchen and was wondering if there were others posted.
