A Sleek and Sunny Kitchen Renovation
Canadian House & Home

2009_11_19-YellowKitchen.jpgTake a look at this sleek kitchen renovation — you won't believe the before photo! It looks just like many, many small kitchens that we've seen lately.

2009_11_19-YellowKitchenBef.jpgWhat a difference, eh?

Even though this was obviously a full-on remodel, with new cabinets, flooring, and appliances, we still find it really inspiring for smaller scale renovations. Even a rental kitchen could get a similar upgrade with a coat of paint (that yellow is so vibrant!) and more modern drawer pulls.

You could even think about replacing your own fridge, lending the landlord's fridge out and taking your own newer fridge with you when you move. (We're currently contemplating this very thing!)

i like it! agree that the natural light coming in through the door is nice. prob helps that the white/bright yellow combo reminds me a lot of my own kitchen renovation :) http://picasaweb.google.com/lordscarlet/KitchenRemodel#5359148317829461554

I love that the cabinets above and to the right of the fridge are counter depth. It looks very sleek and functional while at the same time warm and homey because of the glass door, yellow wall and rustic look floors. Great remodel.
Sadly, I am stuck with the "before" kitchen.

This looks great. The glass door, yellow paint and reflective cabinets (Ikea?) make it so much brighter.

I really like the way they arranged the tall wall cabinets over the horizontal wall cabinets. It looks like the new fridge is shallower than the old one, too, which makes a big difference in a galley.

"...lending the landlord's fridge out..." ? Seriously? Who would do this? Craziness.

The new kitchen looks good but the old one didn't look too bad and the working arrangement is virtually the same. Slow day?

The most important part to me is the new glass door that lets in so much light. The rest of it - eh?
