"I think I am done...a great cure!" (deliajude in the San Francisco Bay Area)Well, Cure-takers, if you're not there yet, you're pretty close. You put four weeks of hard work in and, if all went according to plan, your kitchen is clean, healthy and organized. And that means you're ready to take on the holiday cooking blitz with your arsenal in tip-top shape.
There were over 2,400 of you on this journey together and you did amazing work.

My only undone task was cleaning my freezer. I wiped the fridge and cleaned out the food from both freezer & fridge but the freezer has a bit of crud on it. Not too bad but a task for another month. I removed a couple cupboard doors, painted the cupboard interior green and added a pantry-ish cupboard into the kitchen, in matching green. There were new cloth napkins made, old supplies purged, staples replenished as needed. The cupboards were relined and I moved the kitchen stuff around to make the kitchen more functional. I am proud of what I accomplished in mere weeks and am ready to tackle other spaces in the house.
We'll be leading another Cure in the spring, but if you just can't wait until then and want to do it again (or want to give it as a holiday gift!) here are all the assignments.

One of my favorite parts of the Cure was reading about the Special Projects people did.
Anne of tothestarsthroughdifficulty says of her transformed kitchen window:
Week 3 of the Kitchen Cure is nearly over. Weeks 1 and 2 were brutal, but my kitchen is virtually transformed as a result. The assignments for Week 3 include completing a special project, deep cleaning, and doing something to beautify your kitchen. Cleaning isn’t much fun to write about or to do, so I thought I would share our special project. We decided to replace the ugly mini-blinds with slightly the same shades we’ve used throughout the rest of the house. Luckily for me the shades are now on clearance, so the whole project cost only TEN DOLLARS
It's not too late to submit your before and after images. Send them in and we'll do another round-up in a week or so.

Sure makes a difference closing the doors and drawers in the appearance of the After shot. Shouldn't they be left open in the after shot so we are comparing apples and apples? Everything is off the counters in the after shot and the towel is missing from the stove front. I could accomplish this in less than a minute...hardly a worthy of a Kitchen Cure entry.

I'm so glad that I did this cure. My kitchen feels cleaner and lighter. I didn't get to my special project and that bums me out, but this economy is a bummer. HOWEVER, now I have a very clear direction that I want to go with my kitchen and am going to slowly work toward it.
Thank you for walking us through this kitchen cure and thank you for making me put flowers on my counter. They are my favorite thing about my day.

valid point about the cupboard doors being open and closed. I do have shots of the inside of my cupboards if anyone really cares. The whole point of the cure was to tackle your own space and have a sense of pride in the job you did.
