In fact, it reminds us of another color combination that we've frequently thought of as being great for a kitchen: the terracotta-orange clay courts of the French Open with the turquoise backdrop of the fences around them (sorry, we're big tennis fans). Every time we see that court on television in late May, we think we want to paint our house to look like center court.
We think we'd rely more on the cool bluish, greenish color and use the apricot as an accent. But doesn't it look so warm and inviting?
Whoever invented those cardboard baskets used to hold fruit at the market had a great eye—we love the color of them.

It's very pretty.... in small doses.
Right now, I'm looking at the office across the hall, decorated in those exact colors. Tangerine carpet, aqua couches. All the furnishings are very modern and attractive, but the color scheme just screams "five years ago" to me. It's very, um, colorful.
I think the combination is quite lovely, but probably only as accents. But I'm more of a neutral, cool-color sort of person, so I'm likely just showing my biases!

Those are the colours of our living/dining/kitchen area in the house - with white and brown as neutral backdrops on the furniture.

This season is all about the aqua. I love it!
Coral or Terra Cotta / Turquoise is an absolutely beautiful and vivacious color combo.

This is totally a 50's vibe. My first Easy Bake oven in the 70's was that turquoise colour - remember those?

AH! I've was inspired by exactly the same color combo in my kitchen, courtesy of a totally random dish towel and handbag!

My kitchen is red and aqua - like fire engine red and shades of robins egg, aqua etc. It feels very french to me and since we have an open bar/wondow through to the living room, its sort of spilled over. I like it, but other than refinishing the table in red, everything is accents, so I can change it if I get sick of it.
