Budget Kitchen Decor: Posters from M + E

If you've recently moved into a new apartment like we have, you might find yourself lacking the leftover funds for actually decorating your new digs (also like us!). Luckily, a friend pointed us to these whimsical food prints from M + E. They're affordable and would be quite stylish on a bare kitchen wall, don't you think?

The minds behind this series of meal-themed posters are designers Michael Fusco and Emma Straub. They've designed posters for such illustrious clients as the Magnetic Fields and Columbia Records, and its good to know that they appreciate a BLT as much as the rest of us!

The individual posters are all 12.5"x12.5" (except for the ice cream poster, which is 6.5"x12.5"), and are between $10-$12. If you want one of each, you can get a deal on the whole set for $35.

We think that's not a bad deal for some top-notch design!

I saw something very similar in design and price during a recent trip to Ikea. They were small in size little postcards (8x8) that could be framed or not. Very cute. If I had bare walls in my kitchen, I would have been all over them.

You can often find calendars with vintage food and drink ads. They are easy to frame and look great in the kitchen. Old liquor ads from the 1920's and 1930's are gorgeous! Most calendars are 12x12, and a lot of craft stores sell inexpensive frames in that size. You can order calendars online, but the best time is in Jan or Feb when last year's calendars are half price (or less).
